Today the TRIBE could have swept OAK if Masterson acted like an ace. He gave up 4 runs in 5 IP. He also walked 6. Last year LHH hit .290 and this year is no exception. Jordan Bastian of MLB.com tweeted to me Masterson will not change his delivery. Well he has to add a change up and a cut fastball to get the LHH out or oppposing manger will load up the lineup with lefties. Punch n judy hitters have a field day with him on the mound. He is not elite like Verlander because he is does not intimidate hitters. Also Michael Brantley is not a leadoff hitter because he hits too many balls in the air and does not drag bunt enough. He also does not steal bases.The team needs to add more speedy contact hitters to score more runs against the ace pitchers and bigger ballparks in the AL/NL west. In other words more smallball and less Moneyball.
Welcome to 2012
Well the 2012 Tribe seaso is about to start! Here are the keys for the team if they want ton win the AL Central and beyond.1st the offense must cut down the Ks at leat by 25% especially with RISP. 2nd the pitchers must miss more bats especially with runners on base to keep runs off the board. Pitch to contact is good with bases are empty. Last make the plays on defense!
Killer Instinct
Tribe should have swept BAL. The offense needs to bear down with RISP. Hit the ball where is pitched! The starters need to be more efficient so the bullpen is fresh in Sept. The front office should go for it? SF Giants won the world series last year so this team can win it.
Back from the dead
Well, after a hitaus, I am back to rant on the Tribe. So far the Tribe are 47-42 and are in the AL Central race! The hitting must get better by moving runners and produce with RISP and cutting down on the Ks. The starters need to keep getting better. Carmona needs to bear down with runners on base. Carrasco must do the same. Talbot stop throwing meatballs or U will be DFA! The fielding needs to tighten up! The bullpen mafia is pitching great but Durbin needs to pitch better! CP needs to pitch better in tie games! Do all of this and This team will win the division!
ITS 2011
Happy new year. I hope 2011 will be better for the Tribe. Grady Sizemore & Carlos Santana need to be healthy. The infield defense neds to improve. The rotation needs to stop walking batters and strike out more. Same as the bullpen.Laporta & Brantley need to step up! Pronk needs to hit more HRs !
Getting Better for 20111
If the TRIBE is going to contend for the AL Central ,the pitchers need to cut down the walks and add more Ks. The fielders must make all the plays . On offense the hittters need to get on base more and be better at situational hitting like not striking out with RISP. The bullpen also cut down the walks and add more Ks.
No Relief For BP
The Tribe bullpen lately has been struggling! Sipp and Lewis has been erractic. Chris and Raffy perez also have trouble with command. Also the starters need to stop walking the ballpark. Belcher and Radinsky need to coach better!
Spring Tranining Over
Tribe ends spring training with a 10-10 tie against Cincy. If C Perez keeps pitching like today, he wont be closing for long. He needs to bear down and use the changeup. It will make his fastball faster. I hope Valbuena doesnt go on the DL because he got plunked on the hand. I listened to the game on my ipod touch via MLB at bat app. Tom Hamilton & Mike Hegan are underrated. Here is my pick: Tribe will finish in 2nd place . Grady,Pronk and Fausto will battle for comback players in the AL.
MARCH MADNESS
OSU buckeyes will play in the Sweet 16 after beating UCSB& Ga Tech. They will play TN on Friday. The lady Buckeyes routed St Francis,PA and will play Miss St on Tues. Tribe are playing well in Spring Training. They will better than last year.
Predictions&Projections
It is the end of Janurary, and the preseason predictions and projections are in full force. PETCOA procects the Tribe to finish 74-88. Many preseason mags like Sporting News, Athlon and Lindys pick the Tribe to finish 4th or Last. Every one is drinking the White Sox and the Twins kool aid. Whoever is picked to win the division by these alledged experts, that team does not get the job done. Tittles are won on the field, not on paper! Lets wait until the teams play some games in spring training.
